(From June 27 to August 1, 2009)

AGBU launched the Yerevan Summer Intern Program (YSIP) in the summer of 2007. Joining its sister programs in New York and Paris, the YSIP program in Armenia’s capital is the latest project that serves the needs of Armenian college students who are eager to learn about their heritage and develop hands-on professional experience.

While in Armenia, students will be interns at the country’s leading companies and organizations, and will participate in educational, cultural and social activities. YSIP’s program includes language lessons, dance classes, history lectures and meetings with government officials, as well as sightseeing throughout the country. Interns also have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with AGBU’s Armenia projects.

YSIP interns enjoy visiting some of Armenia’s most beautiful sites, including Lake Sevan, Garni and Geghard, Dilijan and Gyumri, as well as sites in Karabakh. Students have the opportunity to personally experience the Armenian homeland, and therefore develop a better understanding of their cultural identity, while gaining valuable career experience through their internships.
